I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
Today is a day of celebration! Diana Tunda, one of the young adults in Imana Kids, has earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management.
We first met Diana in the summer of 2013. She was a fixture of Kimisagara Orphanage, usually along the outskirts of scores of children, fixing food or making efforts to tidy up. But she soon connected with a few of the women in our travel group, trying her best to speak English and expressing her love of learning, numbers, and management.
As we earned Diana’s trust, we also gained insight to the atrocities of a young orphan girl on the streets. She was one of our young women that drove us to close the orphanage and open The Sparrow’s Nest. Through it all, Diana kept working diligently toward her goals.
With her degree in hand, Diana now faces the full time job of finding a full time job! Tourism in Rwanda is a growing industry, and we are confident she’ll have an employer soon. And once she finds a job, Diana’s ambition is to begin working toward her masters degree.
Diana will continue to live in the Sparrow’s Nest during the interim; we have the expectation that she will need to be moving on in 4 months so that Imana Kids may welcome in a new student.
Our hope is that each of you will take a small piece of joy from this news. Your prayers and generosity have forever impacted the life of one young woman!
